It's
a great day for a song! . . . even if it's us
doing the singing.
Wednesday,
December 6,
2006
Like the president of our fan club has wisely
noted: "You guys are having the summer you never had!"
How true that is. December is all wrapped up and ready to
burst! I am just hoping that no one gets too close when it explodes,
or someone is going to get hurt!
Seriously, it has been shaping up to be the best December on record for
us. If in all the hubbub and hustle-bustle of the holidays
we get a chance to visit with the many fans and friends that have
sustained us through the lean times, then it will all be worth it.
(and, of course, when we cash the checks!)
It truly is one of our favorite times of the year. There is really
nothing like the look on the faces of the children we play for
at these holiday shows. The excitement that they feel, is almost
impossible for them to contain, and is bubbling right under
the surface.
When the excitement and the year ends, we will be smiling at the chance
that we have had to entertain thousands of kids, doing
what we really love to do. The new year will be rung in with us
playing in Port Huron, so stay tuned for info and details of that
show on New Years Eve.
Remember to stop by, have some food, and a
drink. Bring your camera with you and take a picture to publish on
the web
page right here for everyone to enjoy!

Seems like we are rocketing toward the holiday
season already!
With Halloween now officially here and gone, what lies before us is the
last mad scramble for the perfect holiday season that all of us
desire. This week we sent out
our Bob and Carl Holiday Spectacular flayers, and have gotten a great
response. Dates are filling up quickly, and it looks like we will be
very, very busy in a few
short weeks.
Please . . . if your schools is trying to decide if
you would like us to come to play, CONTACT US NOW!
We would love to visit and bring all of the fun and
excitement your children can handle, without actually plugging in to the
Television.

And now, one more summer is past.
With each and every falling leaf, comes the stark realization that winter
is just around the corner, waiting to wrap its chill on our souls.
Fine. Let it come. We will be waiting with lively songs to sing, and a warm
soothing drink to share.

So say
good-by to summer, and officially say HELLO to fall!
I don’t
know about you, but to us, fall presents so many chances to make warm and
lasting memories, that not a day goes by that we don’t appreciate the
precious
time around us. If we can add
our voices to the soundtrack of this
fall, we will have made a memory to cherish for years to come.
On Friday, September 15th, Carl
and I unofficially began the fall season, at the site of our annual
campfire at Marsh bank Oakland County Park.
We performed
around a roaring campfire, dressed as wayward cowboys, a’ singin’ for
our suppers. The night was
perfect, the crowd was lively, and the music was an eclectic mix of
oldies, country and bluegrass. The
Smores were going down good, bringing smiles to the faces of each and
every lucky child and parent. As
night descended on the hillside, families sang together or danced, in the
glow of the campfire. Something about that outdoor setting just makes a for a perfect
night to enjoy music under the wide open spaces.
We would
certainly like to thank all the friends, families and staff of Marsh
bank Park for the wonderful attention and help that we received
during our visit. It is
always a great pleasure to play at this event, and will be looking forward
to our chance to join them all next year.
Saturday,
September 16th found us back in Chesterfield
Township for the second of our annual fall classic events; the Saint
Hubert’s fall festival.
Imagine the
biggest tent that you have ever seen, and fill it with happy-go-lucky
revelers and families, all supporting a wonderful community congregation.
Then you will have the St. Hubert’s fall
festival.
September
has been a wonderful month for us, with every event unique and enjoyable
to play.
But above it all, is seeing
our friends and fans at the shows. Thank you all for making it
worthwhile.

It has all been quiet this past week, while summer
vacation rages outside. I am doing my best to keep the website
updated and current, in preparation
for the busy fall. As far as Bob and Carl news. . . about the only
thing that I can tell you is that it appears the Eastside Howard's project
has gone in
another direction. The owners have contracted with another talent
agency to book the music, so as it stands now, we have had no further
contact with them.
Carl and I would both like to extend our thanks to
all of our fans that were pulling for us to be playing there.
However, apparently economics won out.

"On a warm summers evening . . ."
Or so the song goes. Magic was in the air last
night at Shelby Municipal Park, as Bob
and Carl took to the stage around
7:30.
With a capacity crowd listening, the evening air was ripe for enjoyment,
and not about to be disappointed. Playing music from
Hank Williams to Elvis, to the Everly brothers, as well as Jimmy Buffett
and Don McLean. Everyone got to hear at least a
couple of their all time favorite songs.
Everyone Associated with the Shelby program was very helpful
and professional, giving us the support that we needed to
make the event a tremendous success. Even the Shelby Cable crew did
a tremendous job working with us. We were interviewed
before the show, and worked it in seamlessly, to produce a great record of
this hot summer night.
When I get the official copy of the show, I will be
sure to put some of it on the web for all the fans to see.
Lastly, to all of our friends who came out to support
us, thank you so much! it really means a lot to know that you are listening
and hopefully enjoying each and every moment with us.

Well . . .
This one might be very interesting. Way back, a very long time ago, we
were contracted to play music this summer right back
where we had recorded a live CD, at the Shelby Municipal Stage.
However, when they hired us, it was to play Irish music,
or so we thought. For the last month however, we are not so
sure . . .
Since everything we have read in the press and from the media states that
the concert tonight will be "Variety" music.
Don't get us wrong, we are excited to play, that's for sure, but would
love to know just what type of music we will need to
be playing, so that everyone will be happy.
Our plan is to talk to the people "in the know", and make the
appropriate adjustments in our set. Looks as though we will be
playing for an hour and a half.
Hope to see everyone there tonight, as it promises to
be a very eventful night.

Eastside Howard's
Hmmmmmmmmmmm . . . Lots of interest in this
opportunity, however, I have nothing good to report. The restaurant
is open,
however, the owner has opted to go with music provided by an agency.
That, however, is their right, and we wish them good luck and prosperity
with the new venture.
If and when anything changes, you fans will be the very first to
know.
The Eastside Howard's phone number is: (586) 774-2200, check it out,
and let us know what you think of the entertainment.

Wow!
What fun we had yesterday! It was Hot! - Hot! -
Hot! at poolside, and at the same time, very cool!
For the very first time in several years, we were thrown outside at Great
Oaks, out favorite country club in Rochester Michigan;
and we loved every minute of it!
Kids were screamin' mom's were runnin' and Carl was
singing! (You don't think that there is any connection, do you?)
Usually we have played inside in the great hall for
casual dining and members at each holiday get-together, but today, that
all changed.
New management has come to Great Oaks, and along with it, a new mantra -
"Go where the members are!", and that means,
on a day like today . . . Da Pool!

What a great time we had, with swimming, splashing,
eating and playing, all to the sounds of summertime, coming from our
speakers.
Our next event at Great Oaks will be the fourth of July celebration, and
that promises to be a wonderful time, when we take right
up where we left off! Check out the fun, and make plans to see us
play at our next public concert . . .

Well . . .
Tonight is the big audition for Eastside Howard's, at Jack's
Waterfront in St. Clair shores. We sure have been looking
forward
to the opportunity of being the opening entertainment, when this great new
restaurant premiers this June!
What fun, to be able to adapt our sound to one of the city's up and coming
new venues!
Tonight at 8, it all begins!

How about this!
After our conversation today, the founder of
the chat software that we use, asked me if he could recommend our site for
an official demo of Triton

Welcome to all ! We hope that you enjoy our
website.

For the
very first time, we are in the number one spot at Google,
the most powerful search eng ine
in the world!
Simply type two names, Bob
Carl into the
worlds' most powerful search engine, and push the button . . .
You will
find that in the recorded history of those two names, OUR website is
the first listing. Crazy, Huh?

The major news at this time is of our getting ready
for all of the great things just on the musical horizon. First up is the
annual trip up to Alpena, to entertain at the
policeman's ball. Always enjoyable, and
always relaxing, as we take the long ride up to
unwind and fortify for the up-coming summer, playing season.
Then, no sooner do we return, we will play the
audition for the new EASTSIDE HOWARD'S restaurant
on Monday, May 1st, at
8:00 PM.
The audition will be at JACK'S WATERFRONT, in
St. Clair Shores. It will be a very
exciting night, that you can be sure of!
After that, we will begin the summer musical schedule
in earnest as the Annual Memorial Day
celebration at Great Oaks Country Club gets
into full swing.
Carl and I are really
looking forward to this "rebirth" of the Bob and Carl sound,
happening this summer. Why not be a part of it, by coming to a show,
writing in
to our FORUM,
or sending us and email of support?
All it takes is a moment to let us know how you feel,
and what we can do to make you smile!

I have spent a great deal of time lately overhauling
our website, to make sure that every aspect of it is up to date and
functioning perfectly.
Changes, updates or improvements :
-
A new FORUM
for everyone to have the access to voice their opinions, questions and
criticisms.
-
I re-did the menu on the main page. I have
long wanted to do this, to make them much more legible and brighter.
-
A Brand new CHAT
page to communicate for real-time discussions with band members,
friends or anyone in the world.
-
New, rare music downloads have been added to the FORUM
section, giving fans a taste of very obscure, never-before-heard
original songs.
-
The NEWS
section has been separated into a year-by-year listing; eliminating
slow page browsing.
-
PAST
EVENTS have
been added to display nearly lost archives of past dates and shows.
-
Website code has been streamlined to load faster
and cleaner.

Tomorrow morning, very early, we will be entertaining
fans at the Clinton twp. Rosie
O'Grady's. This will mark the second year of playing
there,
and should go even smoother than last year's performance. We are
excited to hear that WDFN
1130 AM, will also be there, doing a remote broadcast from a spot,
adjacent to the stage.
If you are in the area, and get the chance, why not
stop by to say hello, and kick off the spring with a green beer, and Irish
Jig and a lilting Irish melody or two!

It has been confirmed, that once again this year, we
will be beginning the annual St. Patrick's day
celebration, at Rosie O'Grady's in
Clinton twp. MI.
As we are still awaiting confirmation on the afternoon booking, we can at
least send out the word about Rosie's celebration. We will begin at 8:00
am and carry on until 2:00 pm. What that means, is that
everyone just need to begin their day of green beer and fun a little
earlier! More to follow, as it becomes available.

As you may or may not realize by now, I have spent
about the last two weeks working diligently on updating our web
page. Many of the things that I have done
are not that noticeable, and yet, it has been one of my premier goals to
get our site up to date, and fully functional once more. There have
been several factors
working against us in the past. Spam, web hacks and code errors have
been gnawing away at our web site for the past two years, making it
increasingly
difficult to maintain it. I have changed the design fully at one point,
but was not able to publish it, due to the fact that I could not get some
of the new
design features to work. As it stand now, everything should be up
and running. The Forum and the guest book have each been re-tooled,
and operate beautifully.
I now feel that we are able to move forward this
year, with many things that we can now focus our time and effort on,
without worrying about if our web site will
offer the support we need to provide the bridge between artist and fan.

On most clear, cold, bitter winter nights in unforgiving
February, you wouldn't venture out of your nice, cozy igloo for any
reason;
let alone a coffeehouse concert, featuring Bob
and Carl. However, something was in the air last
Wednesday night in Madison Heights,
and
it wasn't just frostbite! Over 100 music, (or coffee), lovers came
out to fill this warm, intimate setting, featuring a night of music,
refreshments and fellowship.
Carl and I were overjoyed by the response to our music, in what was the
first night of a three, concert series put on by the Madison
Heights city and
their generous sponsors.
Thank you so much to Jenny,
and the good people that took the time to thank us personally on that very
rewarding night after the show. We hope to be back in Madison
Heights soon!

Although, to this point, we hardly have any dates to
fill in the new calendar, I have put the dates we have confirmed so far
online.
It is usual, another month or so, that the dates roll in for the summer
concert shows, but rather than hold the old dates on the web site, I
decided this year
to just post what we have.
Just be patient, as most of the upcoming dates are
posted, as I get them ironed out. We are confident, that this year
will be bigger and better than ever!

Since the last update, the holidays have come and
gone; many friends have sent best wishes for the new year; and lots of
smiling kids
witnessed a wonderful Christmas extravaganza!
Let's re-cap . . .
Its a new year; and so far, it has been pretty
good. As far as playing goes, we have not settled into a new venue
for an
long term commitment, but are pursuing some. I, personally have been
spending some time on the web page, trying to
resurrect certain aspects, that became inoperable when the entire server
was moved from Level 3 to
Go Daddy. (where it is currently being hosted)
We played at several schools in December, (one of our favorite things to
do), and really had a wonderful time. we just
cannot say enough good things about all the tremendous people who help us
out with each and every show.

They did, I mean, they do.

High School,
students, staff and administrators all came together, for a night of fun,
excitement and entertainment. This inaugural event was put together
by
Mr. Jim Socha, to raise funds for the
global Studies, field trip to Chicago. The
event seemed a great success, as more than 400 patrons
witnessed a full evening of singing, second to none!. Special thanks
go to the judges and crew, who worked so diligently to make this event
happen.
I have to warn you though . . . these pictures are BIG!
